RULES:
The object of the game is to collect the most 4 of a kinds. Setup: Shuffle a standard deck of playing cards and deal 5 cards to each player. Players look at their cards but do not show them to others. Pick a player to go first, then play proceeds clockwise.
On your turn you ask 1 other player for any card rank. For example: “Bob, do you have any three’s?” The asked player must give you all the cards matching the rank from their hand, then you get to take another turn. If the asked player doesn’t have any of the asked cards in their hand they say: “Go Fish.” You then must draw 1 card from the top of the deck. If you draw the card you had just asked for, show it and take another turn, otherwise end your turn.
Whenever a player gets all four of cards of the same rank, a “4 of a kind”, they immediately remove those cards from their hand and place them grouped together face up in front of themselves. Whenever a player runs out of cards in their hand they immediately draw 5 new cards from the deck. When the deck runs out of cards, play continues until every card in every player’s hand is gone.
The game is now over. Each player receives 1 point for each 4 of a kind match they have in front of them. The player with the most points wins.
concentration matching names and numbers if can’t go fish
I heard the expression "Go Fish" but had no idea WTF it was.
Have watched Season 1 Episode 7 "War of the Cheeks" of The Boss Baby: Back in the Crib on Netflix.
The family plays game of Go Fish but with animal cards.
The game makes no sense to me. A player asks another player if they have a certain card. The other play could just lie and say they don’t have it. Who keeps track of what was asked and what others’ replies are?
I am a PhD Mathematician. I love proving theorems. I love mathematically modeling things, including modeling law and justice and politics, my own way. I admire the modeling game theorists have done (e.g. John Nash), but I have never believed that their way is anything special or unique. I love proving things about infinite classes of games, complexity classes.
But, I have zero interest in playing any actual games. Never have.
I played the Percy Jackson and the lightning thief version of this game in high school
Just drug me I’ll be fine
Thanks for the explanation. I know I’ve played it before, but it’s been so long. My girlfriend’s daughters like games and I was informed this is one of the games they play, but I had forgotten the rules so this was a nice refresher. Simple concept.
I can’t take the pain anymore
Thanks for explaining! I played a while ago but forgot how.
One cheat code : if he has three cards and give u 2 of them and in his turn ask u for the same card and he get all 4 cards ? We use it as a cheat code 😄 any solution for it ?
45 years old, needed a refresher on a child’s game. Thank you for the video, Sir !
THAT THUMBNAIL HAS COPIED DREAMWORKS’ LOGO!!!
My aunt asked for a 5 from someone else.. I have 3. I asked her for a 5 she said go fish! Sneaky snake in the grass! Blew our minds!
I gotta learn how to be a reporter for the gladue report
what if there’s a tie? i guess the tiebreaker is the highest rank four of a kind.
But if you ask the card and someone gives it, now everyone knows you have that card. ???
Ok
Game is stupid
A 4-of-a-kind can also be called a book.
Actually there are three players not two players
👍🏽
when u was reading the instructions on bicycle it just seemed a little complicated. I’m a visual learner

I’ve been playing this with 7 cards and two pairs. I’ve been playing it wrong since childhood in the 1970’s

I never really understood the 4 pairs part lol I always thought it was two pairs. I was wondering why my daughter kept saying 4 pairs. So I played 4 pairs my hands started to cramp holding all them cards 😂
Wow I’ve been playing it wrong my whole life. All the 50 times I played 😂

I made up a card game. Then I realized it already existed and it is Go Fish.
but, if you tell everybody that you are collecting 3s, they will know that you have those cards and ask you back for them, I dont get that.
លូយមេន
4 of a kind? I always thought it was 2
Wait, that’s not how I played it.
Yeah, i think you can also play Go Fish with Uno cards without Wilds or Action Cards. Just the number card (from 1 to 9) and that’s it
This is one of those games that goes on for a very long time
Small correction….
If only two players are playing, then each person gets 7 cards.
If 3 or more players are playing, then each person gets only 5 cards.
Coffeesh?
